Designed for Human Nature
Every GreyFox design starts by watching people, not by drawing furniture. With our research and design partner [Perch], we observe how people gather, talk, focus and move at work.
What we see is consistent:
People lean in when they're interested.
They perch when a conversation is short.
They shift position every few minutes and gesture while they think.
They gather in loose circles so everyone can be seen.
Most furniture treats this movement as something to minimise. We design for it. We call this approach- Designed for Human Nature.
Five questions every GreyFox design must pass
Does it encourage natural movement?
Does it bring people into better conversation?
Does it support different ways of sitting, working and thinking?
Does it make collaboration feel easy rather than arranged?
Does it reflect how people behave, not just how offices are planned?

Work has moved on. As AI takes on more of the routine, the reason to come into the office is increasingly each other: conversation, collaboration, mentoring and ideas. Hybrid work has turned the office into a place for connection, but most offices are still furnished for individual tasks.
